Manual Chiropractic Adjustments
The goal of chiropractic adjusting is to restore and enhance joint function and movement while resolving joint inflammation and reducing pain. This hands-on therapy is often used to treat neck and back injuries but also relieves pain throughout the joints and muscles of the body.
There are many ways to adjust the spine. The most familiar technique is gentle manual adjusting, but many of our patients are treated with an activator as well. An activator is a tool that moves the spine in a gentle yet effective way. Another hands on technique is the inspiration assist. During this technique the patient breathes in while the practitioner assists the movement of the spine by applying pressure to the vertebrae. Cranial suture adjusting is also very effective for all types of headaches and TMJ problems. At Olsen Chiropractic, we not only adjust the spine but we also manipulate the extremities. Shoulders, wrists, ankles as well as the TMJ (jaw) are treated with gentle effective techniques.
